The new construction materials available in the United States have been hailed as the perfect way to keep your home safe.
But, according to the American Society of Civil Engineers, these materials have been shown to cause a range of health problems, including health-related cancers.
“It is important to remember that the materials are being used in a safe way,” said Dr. Christopher R. Epps, chair of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, in a statement.
“However, it is important for employers to take additional precautions and take the time to ensure that the new materials are used safely.”
Epps said that some workers who had used the materials had “negative reactions to the materials,” and he urged employers to do the same.
“The safety of these materials is very important,” he said.
“It is also very important to understand the possible effects of any adverse reactions to these materials.”
For example, some workers may have developed allergies or asthma when using these materials, according the agency.
